Getting Started

Most people don’t know how to start the franchise selection process.  Maybe you have started looking at franchises, but do not really know which one is best one for you. Perhaps you are ready to engage with some franchise opportunities, but you are not sure how the process works and what questions you should ask.

That is where I come in: I will explain the franchise discovery process, provide guidance for you to engage with franchisors and share my decades of all facets of the franchising experience with you. Once you contact us, I will begin with a no- obligation consultation.

Your Consultation

Your consultation typically takes place by phone, from the comfort of your home. This is not an interview or an application; it’s just a conversation. I will answer any questions you have, and we will talk about you.  We will explore your goals and aspirations for owning your own business. It is also time to investigate your skills/experience as well as the finances you bring to the table to invest in a franchise company.

FranDecision Discovery Process

This is where the fun begins! Think of this part as a self-discovery assessment where there are no wrong answers. The assessment will investigate your strengths, weaknesses, skills, desires and more to help me uncover what kind of franchise entrepreneur you are and what industries you should be considering.

I will use this information to help me match your results with business models that might be right for you. Once we use our tried and tested system to match your results with potential matches, our team starts the work required to narrow down and prepare our recommendations.

Let’s see what fits and what would make you happy! Using our extensive database of franchise partners to find the ones that may be the best fit for you.

We explore options based on everything from when you want to work, where you want to live, your level of investment, and what is a good match for you. We do all the work of filtering through all the options to help narrow the field for you.

Next, we will prepare you for your introduction to various franchises. We will make sure you are ready to ask the right questions and to present yourself as a great candidate for the franchise opportunity.

Then we will share a few select business models for which you might match their qualifications and they meet your desires and goals.

From there, you will decide which ones you want to engage with, and we will make the introduction. It is likely that you will move forward with one of these franchises, but if not, we go back to the drawing board and keep searching until we find what you are looking for.

On-going Support

Our process will guide you and support throughout your discovery process. We will be there to recommend everything from finance options, franchise attorneys to the top questions to ask a franchisor during the interview process. We will even provide you with insight into the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).

Once you are connected with the franchisor, you’ll go through their process which will include some or all of the steps below:

  • Conversations, virtual meetings and webinars
  • Reviewing the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)
  • Discovery Day – where you visit the franchisor
  • Talking with franchisees – find out what life is really like
  • Due Diligence – This is an important step!  My experience really helps here
  • And, finally, signing your agreement

One Final Thing
