Investing in an existing operating franchise location can be a great decision for some franchise entrepreneurs. You can start with immediate cash flow, employees in place and not have to do all the heavy lifting of a franchise start-up. That said, the decision to go with a resale typically requires more money and even more due diligence on the part of the buyer.  At FranDecision, we understand the franchise resale process. As a buyer you are no longer just engaged with a franchisor. Now you have an existing franchisee in the mix as well as any business brokers, attorney’s, CPA’s or others that the franchisee or franchisor have recruited to assist with the resale. If you think a franchise resale might be a good option for you, please call us to discuss how we can help. At FranDecision, we want to be the experienced franchise broker that is on your team!

Biz Ops

At FranDecision we also represent Business Opportunities or “Biz Ops” which are similar to franchises in that they offer a complete system of doing business, however they are not franchises. The primary difference being that a Biz Ops is not regulated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the same way that a franchise is regulated.  Biz Ops do not offer a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) like a franchise which can mean it is more difficult to get the same detail that you would get in an FDD. Another key difference is that you typically do not pay on-going royalties and advertising fees, which often translates into less support. For some entrepreneurs, a Biz Op is ideal as owners often feel more comfortable being on their own after the start-up phase. Biz Ops can still reduce the risk for new owners, and you can still benefit from an established operating system.
